The Bourne Supremacy

bourne2The Bourne Supremacy (2004): When Jason Bourne is framed for a botched CIA operation he is forced to take up his former life as a trained assassin to survive.

The beginning of this movie brings us right into the action, taking us to India. That scene was ok, but the emotional impact was huge. I must admit I did not expect for that to happen. Which brings Bourne in a totally different mindset, making this movie different enough from the first.

The scene in Naples is good, but it’s only when he fights with Jarda in Munich that I get brought back into "Bourne action". This is another hand to hand combat, and it still feels real.

The plot this time involves betrayal, I love that this utilizes the same characters from the first movie, but in a different roles. We also discover more about Bourne’s past, but again although we see what he does, we don’t really know what he feels. Is he a ruthless assassin? Is he just brainwashed?

The final car chase is superior to the one in Identity. His car is banged up many times, and we feel it every single time. But the action is credible enough that we can believe it.

I am not sure I felt the emotions in the final scene in Moscow, but I still loved this movie. The action is better, it feels different enough, the motivation is absolutely believable.
